Party: Claudia De La Quinne, Vholanthus Sumquaes, Daisy Dandeigh Deveraux, The Captain, Wenceslas
As morning (or what is left of it) meets a rising Wenceslas and Heremine, the young pair realises that they may need sustenance after the evening's exertions. They find themselves a nice little bisto, from which they observe a slew of small micro-aggressive interactions between a parade of Varangians and Perlisian merchants.
After they finish up the tab, they rejoin their friends at the house of miss Daisy.
Claudia and Daisy discuss how to tackle the High Tea Invitation, which feels more and more like a trap as they consider it. The best way to get it over with would be to do it today, so they plan accordingly.
Vholanthus, having left the library, meets with Madame Toussaud, who talks about history and Runestones, showing the Sumquaesean her most prized book, a historical tome that describes the fights that led to the founding of Vertange, in exchange for a future favour. The elf, now with more things to think about, heads back to the party's hub house.
The Captain finishes up his guidance over the workers at the Opera, heading off to Richard's mansion, where the gentleman speaks to the officer about a suspicious individual, letting on where the miscreant is hiding.
Armed with this information and another chance for redemption, the Captain seeks out his allies.
The group decides to make a full outing for the Tea, but proper clothing is procured first. Beautiful Perlisian dresses for the ladies, the Captain in his full regalia, the druid in a more natural cast and the dashing sorcerer in... a full black outfit with mask (though the bright-green half-cloak is left behind by accident). From the sleeve of Heremine's lace...-laced dress, a bottle of pure Deveraux Grand Reserve de Marquis is procured as a gift. Two experts on the drink verify that this is indeed the real thing, and questions are raised as to how this exclusive item came to be in the hands of a Durée.
Arriving at the social event, the group finds themselves shuffled into the rose-encrusted garden of the De La Quinne's Manor of Coins. At the table, conversation is held between some of the guests, with the lionshare of talking going to the eager Sabine who talks to Vholanthus and Wenceslas about Balls Occulte, while the later links the events to similar festive events centered around the Solstice celebrations.
Julia proves to be a charming host, who indicates after a while that Jean-Jacomo might be found in the maze, practicing both his skill at music and poetry, should miss Daisy seek to stretch her legs for a minute.
As Daisy considers this, Isidora (Jean-Jacomo's mother and the enforcer for the Court of Shadows) arrives at the manor, probably hoping to scope out what sort of a woman her family would want her son to marry.
Claudia upon spotting the entry almost panics, but her composure holds and Wenceslas spies the distress. He plants a kiss on Heremine and casts a transportation spell when Claudia trips while getting up.
The pair disappears and avoids notice, while their tablemates think it a fun bit of entertainment.
As reality solidifies around them again, Wenceslas swears under his breath as they have teleported into the maze... one row behind Jean-Jacomo's location.
